CNC PROGRAMMER

Carolina Precision Technologies is a contract manufacturer specializing in small diameter, close tolerance parts. We exclusively use Citizen Swiss machines with Mitsubishi controls. We are currently adding new team members with experience as a CNC Programmer at our Mooresville plant. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, detail-oriented, multi-tasking and team oriented. Candidate must have at least 3 years of experience utilizing Partmaker Swiss, Alkart CNC or Win-CNC.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Write programs for new parts utilizing drawings or solid models, review existing programs for efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Operating machines, inspecting parts on Citizen Swiss machines including L12, K16, L20, A32, and L32 including a wide variety of bar loaders
  • Setup proven and unproven programs, verify 1stpart runs and document 1starticle for production run, including program edits using Citizens Mitsubishi controllers
  • Perform all tooling changes, set and adjust cutter compensation, check and set proper U, V, W shifts, set and ensure proper T-data, variables and com values
  • Responsible for diagnosing, problem solving and assisting other employees with technical issues and minor repairs to machines
  • Recording measurements and other information as part of our ISO9001 and AS9100 quality system requirements
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work space

Qualification & Skills:

  • Ability to read drawings or blueprints with standard dimensioning and tolerancing, title blocks
  • Ability to competently use basic measuring equipment:  Calipers, Micrometers, Go-NoGo Pins or Gauges, etc.
  • Maintain high detailed attention to quality, dimensionally and visually; including surface finishes as low as 8 RMA, burrs, steps and other non-conformances
  • Problem solving/troubleshooting related to machining applications, machining tool paths and machine problems
  • Knowledge of general shop operating and safety practices
  • Programming experience: Partmaker Swiss, Alkart CNC Wizard and Win-CNC
  • General computing including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Advanced Measuring Equipment: Profilometers, Optical Comparators, pitch micrometers, ID micrometers, thread ring and plug gauges, concentricity gauge, etc.
  • Knowledge of/experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Systems
