Our Putnum, CT location is looking for a detail-oriented Plant Accounting Admin with solid accounting skills who will be responsible for applying principles of accounting to record, reconcile, analyze, and monitor financial information.

Responsibilities and Duties

Carolina Precision Technologies is searching for an experienced Plant Accounting Admin to fill a newly created role based at the Atlanta Georgia Corporate office. The successful candidate will bring solid accounting and finance skills, self-leadership and energy to this growing, global, privately backed business.  Reporting to the Accounting Manager the Plant Accounting Admin will be responsible for applying principles of accounting to record, reconcile, analyze, and monitor financial information.  This role will manage the accounting team located in multiple locations.

Experience and Skills

  • Group Financial Reporting
  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
  • Act as local contact and backup for accounts payable functions
  • Reconcile ledgers monthly and quarterly
  • Month-end and year-end closing
  • Work under the supervision of a Senior Accountant
  • Plant inventory management
  • Assist in completing audits
  • Generate reports of financial status information
  • Development of production costing tools and systems for manufacturing groups
  • Secures financial information by completing database backups; keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
  • Maintain and record fixed assets
  • Prepare and file local compliance reporting as necessary
  • Act as a liaison for customers/vendors locally

Facility and HR Admin Activities

  • Production work order data management (labor ticket management into Visual)
  • Prepare documents, organize files, manage existing documents, and generally keep the office organized
  • Help, prepare and type reports, presentations, prepare data for management
  • Answer phone inquiries, direct calls, and take detailed messages (for facility and HR functions)
  • Marketing Mailers using Constant Contact
  • Organizing and maintaining personnel records
  • Updating internal HR databases
  • Preparing HR documents
  • Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates)
  • Answer employees queries about HR-related issues
  • Assist payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days and work schedules)
  • Arrange travel accommodations and process expense forms
  • Participate in HR projects (e.g. help organize a job fair event)
  • Gather and provides information to support group and regulatory audits
  • Implementation of new systems (ERP/CRM/Etc.) and controls locally
  • Other projects as defined by management

Required Skills

  • Month-end closing experience
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting role
  • Ability to sit in front of a computer looking at a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Proficiency with a computer
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and various accounting software programs
  • Familiarity with accounting software programs
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Accounting/Business Degree
  • CPA qualified or part qualified is a Plus

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (including advanced excel skills)
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Team player, but capable of working independently
  • Self-starter and must be able to seek information from multiple sources to formulate an answer
  • Quick-starter with multi-tasking skills
  • Data entry skills
  • Organized with ability to analyze high-level information
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
