PROCUREMENT ASSOCIATE

We are currently seeking a Procurement Associate who has experience in a production environment and possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to learn quickly.

We are a market-leading manufacturer of implants, specialty surgical instruments, cutting tools, and delivery systems for the orthopedic, sports medicine, trauma, extremities, and other MedSurg applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for material (bar stock/blanks/etc.) purchasing to support master schedule production
  • Maintain physical and electronic raw material inventory
  • Staging raw materials to work orders to meet production standards
  • Preparing raw material blanks to ensure continuous workflow of work orders
  • Reviewing material requirements on internal work orders and customer blueprints to ensure proper materials are being issued.
  • Using ERP system to issue materials to corresponding work orders.
  • Responsible for purchasing tooling, fixtures, collets, etc. for vertical mills, 5-axis machining centers, and CNC Swiss machines as directed from the Engineering group
  • Maintaining inventory of all tooling
  • Responsible to stage upcoming work orders with proper tooling, collets, fixtures, etc. along with issued materials and set up sheets
  • Responsible to generate RFQ’s, internal inquiries, and POs for all tooling needs (grinding, special tools, etc.)
  • Monitors lead times, cycle times, and production schedule to reflect flow manufacturing principles
  • Responsible to Purchase any other items needed for the facility

Required Experience and Skills

  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO9001 preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related field within a manufacturing environment
  • Work at a fast pace and be self-motivated with the ability to prioritize workload as conflicts arise
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Access and prior ERP experience (Infor, SAP, etc.)

Other Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Proficiency in general math
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
