PRODUCTION MANAGER

Our Westminster, PA location is currently seeking an experienced Production Manager who can manage and be responsible for facility manufacturing operations of CNC and Swiss machines, as well as implementing corporate quality assurance system that produces products per specifications with minimal defects. Must have knowledge of the Medical field, specifically in the Orthopedic, Spine Implants, and instrumentation i.e. Cages, etc. etc.

Responsibilities Include but Not Limited To:

  • Establish and operate within production and expense budget.
  • Defines operational goals with input from other plant personnel to improve overall performance.
  • Develops technical specialized skills and knowledge, as well as teamwork, continuous improvement, and discipline strengths.
  • Manage all machining personnel and processes.
  • Ensure staff coverage to meet production schedules.
  • Request all necessary supplies and communicate inventory needs to ensure uninterrupted operation of the card finishing department.
  • Ensure and facilitate scheduled maintenance of the equipment.
  • Ensure that the production equipment and areas are maintained in a clean and organized manner.
  • Work, coordinate and implement, and report metrics for the performance of the department and staff.
  • Develop a training regimen for all staff members and positions.
  • Ensure departmental KPI’s satisfy company targets and expectations.
  • Initiate root-cause analysis where appropriate and other problem-solving activities to identify corrective actions and communicate them to the Quality Manager to ensure process improvement.
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
  • Interface with Quality Manager and supplier concerning problems assure effective corrective actions are effectively implemented.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Production or Operations Management, Business, or other related disciplines 2 years on the job experience in related field.
  • Ability to do basic math, read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and coworkers.
  • Relevant experience supervising people in a machine shop and processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Project Management and/or Lean Certification desired.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems like Job BOSS or similar software.
  • Must possess organizational ability in order to set priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines.

Abilities Required

  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong Time Management Skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency in basic software packages such as MS Office.
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals and fumes.
  • Constant exposure to moderate noise.
  • Vision requirements: close, distance, color, depth perception and ability to focus.
